Christine Hickey

Christine Hickey, 71 of Madeira Beach Passed away at her home on January 4, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Peter Michael Whalen and Anna Marie Coffey. She met  her soulmate Jeffery, on January 10, 1969 the were married.  She was a nurse for many years and worked the night shifts, so she can be home with her sons, Brian and Scott that she loved dearly. On the weekends she would take the family to their cottage in Indiana, on Hudson lake. She loved sitting on the porch watching the sunsets. When they retired they moved down to Florida to enjoy the beautiful sunsets every night. For many years they still traveled back to the cottage in Indiana to spend time with the grandkids. She loved her grandchildren so much and was always there for them. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffery, Sons, Brian (Crystal), Scott (Kerri), Grandchildren, Angelica, Jake, Bella, and Daniel, her sisters Barb (Louis), Linda (Rick), and her mom Anna. 

My grandma was a very special person to all of us. She was kind, caring, funny and had a laid back personality, which made talking to her easy. There is not a time that I can think of where she was sad. She always had a smile on her face, and when she laughed it was contagious. My grandma was always putting a lot of thought into fun activities the family could do and made a special effort to make sure we all always felt comfortable. She always appreciated the small things in life, like watching the sunset, sitting at the beach, taking car rides and visiting with her family. We all loved listening to her talk about Fox News and court TV and are going to miss her telling us about these things. She was loved by her whole family and lived a good life. Grandma, you will be missed forever. We all love you. 

There will be a private service for the family on Sunday, January 21,2018 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers or donations we ask that you do something with your loved ones as she would have wanted. Have a piece of chocolate in her honor..
