Gerald Edwin Steinport

Gerald "Jerry" Steinport ,87 of Tampa, Florida passed away Thursday evening at his home. Jerry was born to the parents of Henry and Ruby (Palmer) Steinport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended the local schools. In the 40's and 50's he was the leader of Jerry Steinport Orchestra playing the trumpet and played in many cities throughout Michigan. He met his future wife Doris L. Gorby while playing in the different towns and to this union they were blessed with a son Ricky and daughter Linda. Jerry and Doris own and operated Steinport Plumbing for many years before their retirement. He was a long time member of the Oldsmar Chamber of Commerce. Jerry is survived by his son Ricky Lee and (Pat) Steinport of Grand Rapids, Michigan and daughter Linda Steinport of New Port Richey and Five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris and sister Mary Jane Bergman. Jerry wishes were not to have any services.
