James Heuser Edwards

James Heuser Edwards, 90, of Oldsmar, FL, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Detroit, MI, and moved to Oldsmar in 1982. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and wonderful friend to many.

If the measure of a man is how he lived, Jim set the bar pretty high. His smile was contagious, and “ol blue eyes” made an indelible mark on everyone who knew him, one we’ll never forget. He had a heart of gold and was a very generous man. He was never ashamed to show his emotions, or provide caring advice or loving affection. Jim grew up in Detroit, and went to Catholic Central High School. Following graduation, Jim entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served in WWII. Following his service to our country, Jim was self employed in numerous business ventures and was a very successful business man.

Jim was a member of the Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Theresa Edwards. He is survived by his daughters Theresa Ann (Dwight) Lynn; Susan (Dick) Meitz; Mary (Gary) Rutledge, Sharon Edwards, and son James H. (Laura) Edwards Jr.; Four grandchildren - Lauren Lynn (Matthieu Deforge), Marshall Lynn, James Edwards III (Mellisa), and Evelyn Edwards; one great granddaughter- Nina Lynn Deforge,  and loving sister, Marie Lindberg.

Viewing  from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd at Holloway Funeral Home , 112 Bayview Blvd., Oldsmar, FL, 34677. Funeral mass at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church immediately following at  1:30 p.m., 2405 Philippe Pkwy, Safety Harbor, FL 34695.  Interment at the Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors in Holly, Michigan, in September.
