Sharon Lloyd Bridges

Sharon Lloyd Bridges, 76, of Dunedin, Florida passed into the Lord's arms on June 24,2015 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Fairbury, Nebraska on June 6, 1939 to parents Melvin and Mavis Pleis Lloyd and attended Fairbury schools until she moved with her family to New York when she was seventeen. She graduated from Levittown Memorial High School in 1957 and began working for NASA. Sharon was very proud to have known many early astronauts while working for engineers who developed spacecraft such as the LEM.

On December 27, 1958 Sharon Married Donad Bridges. They lived in East Meadow, NY untl Don's retirement from the NY Nassau County Police Department, when they retired to Florida. Don predeceased Sharon in 2011.

Sharon loved music. She was known all her life as a wonderful soloist and was happiest when performing with her beloved Dunedin Community Chorus, her other singing groups, and very special karaoke friends.

Sharon is survived by two children, Scott(Terri) Bridges of Tampa, FL, and Wendy(Jim) Rexroad of Largo, FL, as well as three grandaughters, Clarice, Annaliese, and Lindsey. Also surviving are two sisters, Janice Lloyd of Unadilla,NY and Livia Lloyd-Hawkins(Jack) of Mantua, NJ, and a brother, George(Julia) Lloyd of Grapevine, TX, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 18 at 12:30 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church of Dunedin Florida. In Sharon's memory, contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church of Dunedin, FL, the Dunedin Community Chorus, or the ALS Foundation, Florida Chapter.
