Max Cleland Obituary

MAX RICE CLELAND 75, longtime resident of Oldsmar Florida, passed away Friday August 23, 2019. Max loved his family and his Lord Jesus Christ. Max went to be with his Heavenly Father peacefully while at home in Palm Harbor, Florida. His wife of 53 years, Patricia was with him for his last breath in this world, and walked him home to his eternal one. A longtime member of Community United Methodist Church of Oldsmar, Max was most happy spending time with his large family. A Tampa Bay Buccaneer season ticket holder for 25 years, Max loved to tailgate with the family as much as the games themselves. He also enjoyed fishing, from family trips out on Tampa Bay and the Gulf to more exotic locations like Belize and Canada. Annual family vacations to places like Cedar Key brought him true joy and where he felt the most comfortable. Originally from Hicksville Ohio, Max was the son of Glen and Esther Cleland and brother of Ruth Tetor. In 1983, Max started Coastal Dewatering, a successful and well-known business in Tampa Bay for over 30 years. Max is survived by his Wife, Patricia Ann Cleland, Daughter Kristin Yvette Perrone and Husband Rob, Son Joseph Glen Cleland Sr., Daughter Nikole Renae Segale and Husband Dan. Grandchildren; Nicholas Perrone and Wife Shannon,  Joseph Cleland Jr. and Fiancé’ Nicole Bell,  Colby Perrone and Wife Katelyn,  Serena Cleland,  Mackenzie Cleland,  Samantha Segale,  Veronica Segale, and Nephew Shane Mulligan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to For Haiti with Love or the Community United Methodist Church, of Oldsmar.  Memorial Service scheduled for Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Community United Methodist Church of Oldsmar, 11:00 am.
