Sara A. Schmidt, born in Indianapolis, IN, July 15, 1931, died Saturday January 27, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Maxwell and Dorothy Karabell, brother Charles Karabell, sister Marilyn Celender, and former husband Edward A. Schmidt. She is survived by her 4 children – Michael Schmidt, Deborah (James) Janeczko, Mark (Beth) Schmidt, Jay (Betty) Schmidt, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Ms. Schmidt was a member of the Red Hat Society-Beach Babes of Doral Village, the Doral Village Kitchen Band, Grand Duchess of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Tri Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority, member of the Riviera Swim and Tennis Club, and Volunteer of the Pike Township High School Chili Supper. Sara graduated from Shortridge High School and attended Butler University. She worked at the Indianapolis Times, Monet Jewelry, and retired from the American College of Sports Medicine. She moved to Clearwater, Florida in 2003, where she became an area representative, “Queen” of Concerns, and volunteer extraordinaire at Doral Village. To honor this beautiful, giving lady, the family requests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organization near and dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 5th at Doral Village at 1 PM.
