Richard Gary Sivik passed away peacefully at his home in Oldsmar, FL on April 9, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born December 9, 1940, in Cleveland, OH to Jack and Violet Sivik. Richard joined the United States Marine Corps July 11, 1958, and proudly served as a Master Sergeant until September 30, 1980. Richard continued in the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve until July 1988.
Richard met his wife, Velma Jean Arthurs at the Marine Corp Air Station in Beaufort, SC in June 1962 and married September 22, 1962, after only 90 days of dating. Together they raised three children and settled in Oldsmar, FL in 1980. Richard often talked about spending summers as a child at Euclid Beach Park in Cleveland, OH where he would get to ride all the amusement park rides before the park opened and picking up change under the roller coasters at the end of the day. Richard enjoyed spending time at the gun range and competing in archery competitions and had a love of Native American artwork.
Richard is survived by his three children, his daughter, Diane Sisson and her husband Jeff of Lakeland, FL; his daughter, Danette Loyd and her husband Robert of Archer, FL; his son, David Sivik and his wife Sherri of Palm Harbor, FL; 9 grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Ashley, Matthew, Megan, Aaron, Melanie, Jessica, and Joseph; 7 great grandchildren, Aubree, Kynsingten, Cru, Quinn, Ryder, Scarlett, and Baby Girl Loyd.
