Leon Scott

SCOTT, Leon “Randy” 79, of Oldsmar, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at Mease Countryside Hospital. Leon was born May 14, 1937 in Buffalo, NY to William and Hubertina Scott. He graduated from Burgard Vocational High School in Buffalo in 1955 and the University of Buffalo. On Aug. 17, 1963 he married the former Mary Ann Evans in Ossining, NY. Leon worked at the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Lackawanna, NY for 16 years before joining the Peace Corps in 1971 where he shared his knowledge as an electrician with students in Kenya, Africa for over two years. After obtaining his master’s degree, he worked at Tampa General Hospital for 14 years as a social worker. Leon retired in 1998 and spent his time focused on his love for music, theater, and art. Leon is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two children, David William Scott (Michelle) and Susan Lynn Scott; brother, William Scott; two grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas; nephew, William and niece, Caroline. Honoring Leon’s wishes, there will be no services. However, Leon was an avid proponent of charities and would have appreciated memorial donations made to your favorite charitable organization.
