Jane Ellen Sutton, 85, of Safety Harbor, FL passed away peacefully April 25, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Mildred Amelia Raitt and Charles Leon Fichthorn. After high school, Jane went to work in banking on Broad & Wall Street in Manhattan and in Little Falls, New Jersey for 15 years. During that time she met the love of her life, Willard J Sutton, and both tied the knot on November 29, 1952 at the Mountain View Gospel Church in Wayne, New Jersey. Jane earned her Bachelor of Arts at the Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey. With her degree she taught in public school from 1968 to 1996. Fifteen of those years were in Language Arts department at the Dunedin and Countryside High Schools. Within her successes in teaching, she was recognized in the book: Who's Who Among American Teachers 1996. Janes involvements in the community will never go unnoticed. She was a member of the Northwood Presbyterian Church. Her leadership roles included: teaching adult Sunday School, leading a small Bible group, acting as the main librarian in the church, and volunteering at Countryside High School in the ESOL department. She was wonderful teacher, wife, and friend to all that knew her.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the St. Mark Village in Palm Harbor, FL. The service will be lead by Rev. Dr. Paul D Means and Rev. Dr. E. Chris Curvin.
