Leonard Dozois Obituary

Leonard Armand Dozois, Jr.

October 29, 1952 – February 6, 2019

Leonard Dozois passed away on February 6, 2019 at the age of 66. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 29, 1952 to Leonard Armand Dozois Sr. and A. Evelyn Frances Decrescente. He was the loving husband to Lisa Dozois, who survives him, as well as their three children and four grandchildren.

Len loved computers and spent most of his life working in the Internet Technology field. He held positions as Programmer, Chief Information Officer, and Internet Marketer. He was also the family tech support specialist, and had endless patience to solve any problem, no matter how complex.

Len spent many years volunteering for the American Red Cross, helping families displaced from their homes after experiencing disastrous fires. Even in these saddest of times, Len brought smiles and laughter to everyone he helped.

He believed strongly in his country. As a young adult, Len enlisted in the US Air Force where he served in the Security Police Squad and in Vietnam. After his service he worked as a loss prevention specialist, and later as a private detective. Most recently, he began creating and selling decals and mugs representing different branches of the military.

Len enjoyed many things in his life: computers, Monty Python, a good debate, Oreos, hot dogs, cooking, guns, and spending time with his family and close friends. He was fearless, except when it came to snakes and sharks and would, without hesitation, put his life on the line to protect those he loved.

His knowledge, his advice, his positive outlook on life, his sarcasm, his endless tinkering, his deep love for his family, his bear hugs and most of all, his ability to recall a song from any phrase that anyone spoke, will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Palm Harbor Museum, 2043 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34683 on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 PM.
