Adonis Lopez Obituary

Adonis Lopez died on April 14, 2023. He was survived by his loving mother, Lilia Lopez, his sister Raquel, brother Angel, and his daughter Jessica along with his three grandchildren. He also left behind nieces who loved him and a grand-nephew who adored him. Adonis has a large extended family here and in Cuba who also grieve his loss.

If you knew Adonis, you’ll never forget him. To start, his name is Adonis and he lived up to that memorable name. He was a big personality, and mischievous troublemaker with a heart sensitive to the needs of others. Enslavement to sin and drugs did not completely harden that soft heart and even in the midst of his own struggles, he often cared for others who were hurting.

Adonis was a complicated and fascinating person and he was dearly loved. The way he left this world is heartbreakingly sad. Up until the very end, his family didn’t give up on him. Many pleaded with him to seek the Lord, to repent of his sins and let Jesus take away his guilt and shame forever. He struggled to understand grace, that there is nothing one can do, merely turn to Christ and receive His mercy. We hope that in those last moments, he finally surrendered to the Savior. If you’re reading this, it’s not too late for you to do just that.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
