Armandina May, lovingly known as Dina, passed away on January 27th, at the age of 74. Dina was born in São Paulo, Brazil, to a proud Italian family. Her early childhood spent in Brazil, followed by her move to the United States, shaped a life marked by strength, devotion to family, and an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
Dina carried her Italian heritage with pride throughout her life. She cherished family traditions, believed deeply in the importance of gathering around the table, and expressed her love through hospitality, food, and celebration.
Friendship came naturally to Dina. She had a rare gift for making others feel welcome and valued, forming lifelong friendships wherever she went. She created beautiful, inviting spaces filled with laughter and warmth. A welcoming hostess, she was especially famous for her annual Halloween parties, a beloved tradition that friends eagerly anticipated and were a reflection of her playful, generous spirit.
Dina spent most of her life in the Chicago area, where she built a successful career as a real estate agent for over two decades. After retiring, she moved to Florida, embracing a new chapter filled with sunshine, travel, sailing, and time with family and friends. Dina had a passion for exploring the world, traveling to destinations such as Africa, Japan, Italy, Peru, and Thailand, always drawn to culture, beauty, and new experiences, though Italy held a particularly special place in her heart.
Dina will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, strong will, devotion to family and friends, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to both people and dogs.
