Barbara Blewitt Obituary

We’re heartbroken to share that Barbara Blewitt, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. She was the beloved wife of 42 years to the late John Blewitt, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. She leaves behind her brother Gary, and wife Terry, and sister Karen Dorian with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories and unbreakable bond. She was a proud mom to her three sons and daughter in laws—Richard and wife Ching, Kevin and wife Dawn, and Jeffrey and wife Gina —who will carry her memory with them always. She was also blessed to be “Grammy” to her 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Max, James, Austin and Isabella whom she loved deeply and supported endlessly. In addition she was also Auntie Barbara to her numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and adored. Her love extended beyond her human family; Barbara had a special place in her heart for her dog, Sparky. Their bond was a testament to her nurturing spirit and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.

Barabara was born May 25, 1937 in Cranford, NJ, the first daughter to Richard and Alice Dorian. She and husband John raised their family in Bridgewater, NJ, prior to retiring to Oldsmar, Florida. A dedicated worker, Barbara pursued several careers. She enjoyed many years as a Realtor, but most of her working years were spent at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Her success gave her the opportunity  to travel the world. She took on every assignment with the same determination and heart. No matter the job, Barbara gave it her all. Barbara was known for her strong will, which was deeply rooted in her proud Armenian heritage. She carried the strength, and deep sense of family throughout her life- and it showed in everything she did. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will live on in her children, and grandchildren, and all who had the gift of knowing her. She’ll be missed more than words can say.

The family is extremely grateful to her loving caretaker, Liliana Cabrera, who provided ongoing devotion, friendship, and joy throughout many years. There will be a small private gathering in NJ to celebrate her life.
