Charles (Buzz) W. Swartz III, age 67, of Tampa, Florida died July 6, 2020. Formerly from Lewistown and York, Pennsylvania, he was born on October 15, 1952. Proceeded in death by his mother Dorothy Anne (nee Landis) Swartz, father Charles W. Swartz II, and sister Lisa Anne Swartz. Buzz relocated to Tampa while working for Northwest and Delta airlines before retiring after 39 years. He is survived by the many good friends he made in his new hometown as well as his sister/brother in laws Kathy (nee Boros) and Guy Richards. Buzz loved his cars, dining out with friends, and especially football. He officiated for youth and high school football games and girls flag football with the West Coast Officials Association from 2004 to 2019. This included a number of playoff games and two State HSFB finals. Buzz was instrumental in organizing as well as working the chain crew for college football bowl games played at Tropicana Field and Raymond James Stadium broadcasted on ESPN. He could also be seen on the sidelines as a member of the chain crew for twenty years at the University of South Florida Bulls games.

A short service will be held for Buzz and his sister Lisa at the Lake Carroll Cemetery Columbarium in Tampa on March 13, 2021 at 11:00. The cemetery is located at 2401 Myers Lane.
