Cindy Kerce

Cynthia Ann Green Kerce, known as Cindy, went to be with her beloved Savior on Saturday, July 4, 2020, surrounded by her loving family in her Oldsmar, Florida home at the age of 66.

Cindy was born September 1, 1953, to Lucius Marvin Green and Ferrell Taylor Green (90), of Palatka, Fl., where she was raised with her sisters Pam Douglas and Melony Dunning, and where she met her husband Robert Kerce.

Cindy and Robert were married September 22, 1973. The couple moved to the Tampa Bay area the following year and remained there, raising their 3 daughters Rachel, Whitney and Meghan. Cindy was a graduate of St. John’s River Community College and taught first grade at Oldsmar Christian School for 32 years, where she was beloved by generations of students. She was the elementary school play director, chapel director and cheerleading coach for most of the school’s existence. Cindy and Robert led the youth ministry at Oldsmar Baptist Church, where they have been key leaders for the past 46 years.

Cindy is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Robert Cecil Kerce, Jr.; daughter Rachel Platt and husband Tommy Platt; daughter Whitney Stoutimore and husband Zachariah Stoutimore; daughter Meghan Kerce; and 9 grandchildren, Peyton, Jordan, Aiden, Alexander, Carson, Emma, Laila, Abbigail, and Jeremiah; all of Oldsmar, Fl. She is also survived by her mother Ferrell Green, her sisters Pamela Douglas and Melony Dunning, her mother-in-law M.E. Calloway, and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family.

Cindy gave her heart to Jesus Christ at 12 years old during a Trinity Baptist Church service, and served Him faithfully her entire life. Her earthly passions were her husband, children, grandchildren and teaching. She was a woman of great faith, and a mother and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. 

A memorial ceremony will take place on Saturday July 25, 2020, at 11:00am at Oldsmar Baptist Church, 650 Burbank Road, Oldsmar, Fl. 34677.
