Debra Kamp Vermeer

Debra a loving wife, mother and Nana passed away at home on March 15.  She was surrounded by family as she transitioned from this world into Heaven.  Debra was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Ruth Kamp.

Debra is survived by her husband Kent and children Matthew Vermeer of Clearwater, Florida and Emily (Austin) Grocoff and grandchildren Alexander and Hailey of Sanford, Florida.  She is also survived by her brother Dave (Linda) Kamp of Helena, Alabama.

She was a caring person that made her jobs in human resources and client relations very successful.  She cared about people first and showed this to her family and everyone that she met throughout her working years.

Debra was born in Michigan and then lived in Ohio where she was very active in her church and community.  She moved to Kansas City when her parents needed assistance in their medical needs.  She met her husband Kent in Kansas City as they were both active in the local Reformed Church.  They were married in 1982.

Debra moved with her family to Florida in 1985 and was active at Heritage United Methodist Church with the women’s ministry.  During this time, she worked in a variety of positions including fifteen years at Ruth Eckerd Hall as the human resource manager.  She transitioned to Colonial Insurance in the last years of her working and provided a caring service to all the companies and people that she had the privilege to serve. 

Debra will be missed by her family and all that she encountered during her years here on earth.  When her grandson was told that she would be in heaven, he said “with Jesus.”  We know that this is not the end, but the beginning for her.
