Dolores "Lori" J. Edwards

Dolores (Lori) J. Edwards (89) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2026. She was born on September 3, 1936 in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, daughter of Homer and Alberta Jarrett. She grew up in Lakeland, FL and graduated from Lakeland High School. In 1958 she married Donald R. Edwards, her husband of 63 years, and began her grand adventure of living all around the world as a military spouse.  Her love for adventure continued after Don's military retirement as they lived in the Middle and Far East during Don's corporate work-life. After 15 years abroad they finally settled in Oldsmar, FL.

Lori is survived by her loving children, Martin Edwards (Sharon) of Canton, GA and Jody Edwards of Oldsmar, FL; her brother, Fred Jarrett (Gladys) of Douglasville, GA, her half-sister, Amber Jarrett, and half-brother, Scott Jarrett, both of Lakeland, FL; one granddaughter: Megan Boss (Joel) of Canton, GA; and two great-granddaughters: Addison (11) and Emily (9). She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Edwards, and her sister Nancy Marlow.

Lori was a member of Community United Methodist Church where she served in a number of roles to advance the name and cause of Jesus and to impact the local community. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church in Oldsmar. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Community United Methodist Church in Oldsmar, FL to continue the work of making Jesus’ name known.
