James "Jim" Danielson Obituary

James “Jim” Allen Danielson

July 6, 1952 - November 8, 2025

A devoted husband, father, and “Poppy,” Jim Danielson passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by the family he so dearly loved.

Born in Westlake, Ohio, Jim made Tampa his home for nearly five decades. In 1975, his life was forever changed when he met Betsy Fults. Ten months later, they were married, beginning a beautiful 50-year journey as sweethearts, soulmates, and business partners. Together, they ran Six Pak Screen Printing and raised four loving children in the same home for 47 years.

Jim began his career with a hammer and nails as a carpenter, working his way up to construction superintendent before charting his own path as an entrepreneur. He was happiest when sharing adventures with his loved ones, whether traveling, riding roller coasters or ATVs, zip-lining, or attending stock car races. Above all, he cherished his role as “Poppy.” Cookie Baking Day with his granddaughters was, without fail, his favorite day of the year.

Jim’s legacy of love lives on through his wife, Betsy Danielson; his children, Tommy, Lisa (Raymond) Vilcsek, Kristy (Anthony) Colavolpe, and Kelly Sweet; and his grandbabies, Emily and Kayla Colavolpe, and Penny, Lena, and Remy Sweet. He also leaves behind his brother and best friend, Art Danielson; many in-laws whom he loved; and countless friends, including members of the Men’s Group and Sunday Morning Feeding the Homeless crew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bernadine Danielson, and his brothers, Bob and Cliff.

Jim was a man of great faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was always ready to offer a helping hand whenever he saw a need. After a brief but courageous battle with esophageal cancer, the Lord called him home at the age of 73. He was deeply loved, and his absence will be felt immensely until his family is reunited with him once again in Heaven.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6100 Memorial Hwy, Tampa, FL 33615.
