Jane Elizabeth Hessner, a long-time resident of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday. February 1, 2022 surrounded by her children. She was born April 9, 1929 in Queens, New York. She graduated from Goshen High School, in Goshen, New York, and at the age of 17, courageously left home to attend nurses’ training at Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital in New York City. Jane gave a lifetime of service as a pediatric registered nurse at Morton Plant Hospital, a career she loved and cherished. She retired in 1994 and went on to donate her time volunteering at Suncoast Hospice for 21 years. Her faith was her foundation and guided her all the days of her life. In her final years she could be found most Sundays in the front row of Harborside Christian Church in Safety Harbor. She always felt her greatest accomplishment and joy were her 5 children who she raised with her beloved late husband, Frank Hessner. Jane is survived by her children; Nick Barone, Robyn LeRoy, Heidi Cody, Rich Hessner, and Chris Hessner along with her 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 step childrenand her sister Irene Decker.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Contributions to Suncoast Hospice would be appreciated.
