Janet Dorothy Hornyak

Janet Dorothy Hornyak, 76, of Oldsmar, Florida, passed away at her family's home on December 28, 2018. She was born on July 2, 1942 in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania to Carl Albert Schmidt and Lillian DeRose Robbins. She completed her schooling in West Mifflin and started her career as a Nurses Aid in the senior living community, Patricks Place. Since retiring, she had loved to hate living in Florida (her favorite joke), playing Bingo and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. She has enjoyed trips to Disney, Mexico, cruising with the family and holiday gatherings.

Survived by her daughters, Wendy (Tom) Stanziano and Suzanne (Tony) Bonante; brother, Fred Schmidt; and grandchildren, Caleb and Ava Stanziano. Predeceased by her parents, Carl and Lillian Schmidt; and brother, Carl "Tommy" Schmidt Jr.

 Visitation will be at Holloway Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 10 AM, with a service to follow at 11 AM.

A memorial service will be held in the summer with a burial at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.
