As we say goodbye to the kindest, most loving woman anyone that knew her- our dear Mommom Eastman. A true woman of God, her heart and her kitchen were always open. A Memorial Service to celebrate Joan’s beautiful life will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Florida tentatively on Aug 23 time to follow. There will be a memorial service in Delaware at Fairwinds Baptist Church on Aug 30th time to follow.  There may be a get together after services with details to follow.

Joan was the queen of cookies, the master of apple dumplings, sticky buns, baked beans, and the most delicious chicken and dumplings you could ever taste. You never left her table without seconds (or thirds) and plenty of leftovers.

Her prayer list was legendary- she was a prayer warrior if you made it on her list, you could rest assured you were being lifted in true faith and love. Her goodness radiated from within, and her warmth could light up any room.

Over the past eight years since the passing of her beloved Don (“Poppop”), Joan truly defied the odds. She remained active with her Publix runs, church services, Bible study, lunches with her church friends, and kept up with all of our shenanigans- always with a loving shake of her head and a warm smile.

She was loved by so many- strong, compassionate, and the heart of our family. She has saved us all time after time loving us and praying for us through some of life’s hardest moments, she held us together with her love and strength, and we will forever be grateful.

The world is a little less sweet without her, but her love, prayers, and beautiful legacy will live on in all of us. Now reunited with Poppop, her parents, siblings, and all of the people of her past that she loved dearly, we know she will continue to be our guiding light-as she was always our true earth angel.
