Joseph "Joe" Smagowicz

Joseph "Joe" Smagowicz, 90, died on Monday December 30, 2019 due to complications related to pneumonia. He died peacefully in his sleep at Manor Care Nursing Home. He was born on October 28,1929 in Newark, New Jersey.He had quite a life raising three boys and working as a distinguished Director of purchasing and maintenance Catholic Guardian Society in New York Archdiocese for over 30 years. Joseph taught his boys tools of the trade becoming handymen, he took pride with his boys and taught them the meaning of life,to become respectful and and knowledgeable young men. He was quite a humorous character, he brought laughter to the people who surrounded him. He also, loved to be with his family that he cared for. Always,asking if they were doing well and if they were good. You can take a glance at him and se him happy with that loving smile. Friends new him as Papa Joe. He loved watching Western shows and listening to Dean Martin, his favorite and The Rat Pack. Oh yes, but most of all he looked forward to Friday nights. DANCE NIGHT! He would dance the night away.We will miss you but, most of all we have the memories of an amazing man.which of course you will never be forgotten. We love you!!

He leaves his sons Joseph Jr., Kenneth, and preceded in death Brian and his 

Grandsons, Kyle and Zach.
