June Giannetti passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born in Sunderland, Massachusetts to Steven and Minnie Telega, and was the loving wife to her late husband Arthur Giannetti for 63 years.
Following high school, June became a homemaker and spent her days raising three children in a small Massachusetts town. As the eldest daughter of a farmer, June and her children could almost always be found out in the fields or surrounded by the many family members who lived nearby.
In the early 70’s, June uprooted her family to support her husband’s lifelong dream of living in California. With her family and her belongings loaded in a station wagon, she headed west and embarked on an adventure that would last 25 years.
After arriving in California, June began working in dietary services at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. Years later, she transferred to the Oncology Department to work as a medical receptionist. June’s bright smile and easy-going demeanor brought instant comfort to the cancer patients she helped each day.
After retiring, she and her husband moved to Florida to be near their first-born granddaughter. With boundless energy and a youthful spirit, June came out of retirement and began another career spanning many years at HarborChase Assisted Living Facility.
June was an avid gardener. In California, she spent her spare time tending to her rose garden and continued her passion for gardening in Florida. No matter who she visited, she usually ended up in their garden plucking weeds, replanting, and offering gardening advice.
June is survived by her two children: Lisa Dozois of Palm Harbor, Florida and Jeffrey Giannetti of Oldsmar, Florida; five grandchildren: Chris, Lea, Gina, Angela, and Victoria; and five great-grandchildren: Lily, Benson, Cole, Adelise, and Elias. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and her son Steven.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at HarborChase of Palm Harbor, 2960 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor, FL on Sunday, July 30 at 2:00 PM.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests making a contribution in June’s name to your church or the charity of your choosing.
