Ken Tobiassen was a man who loved God and his family. He was especially thankful for the 67 years he spent with his treasured wife, Martha.
He counted four adults as his children - the two he helped raise and the two that married into the family - and rejoiced in his three grandchildren. To Ken, no one had grandchildren as special as his! He never missed a graduation, soccer game or piano recital.
While professionally he was a retired dentist, he loved to work with his hands, spending countless hours working at his church, working as a plumber, electrician and jack-of-all trades on mission trips, helping build his house and working on the homes of both his children. Ken loved to travel and experience life and almost to the end was trying to find a way to talk Martha into going to Antarctica. Ken recounted his blessings every day.
A verse from Micah was kept on Ken’s desk which states:
He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Ken lived this verse throughout his life.
Ken is survived by his wife Martha, his daughter Katy (Jim), his son David (Joan) and his grandchildren, Robbie, Laura and Aly as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Northwood Presbyterian Church.
