Komal Prasad

A LIFE WELL LIVED

Komal Prasad was born on March 19, 1945 in a small village in Guyana, South America, and died in Oldsmar, Florida on July 1st, 2022 at the young age of 77 years old. He was the youngest of 5 children; the late Bisesar Bisnauth (50 - dec. May 1976), the late Hemoutie (88 - dec. December 2021), the late Jasodra (79 - dec. October 2021), and their surviving brother Lakeraj who currently resides in Canada (82).

At a young age of 16 in 1961, he began teaching in another town when he met the young lady of his dreams; Ruby Kanhai. They got married on November 12 1966 and had 3 beautiful children; Lomesh Elkanah (55), Shennah Nirmala (dec) and Vanessa Nirvani (49), As he was teaching, he was studying to be an accountant. Once he obtained his degree, he started working at the Building Society in Guyana as an accountant in 1974. In 1977, he and his family went to London to obtain another degree in Accounting. He later returned to Guyana in 1982 to work at Guynec as the Chief Accountant, and his family stayed in London. In 1985, he decided to migrate to the USA to reunite with his family.

He and his family lived in New York until 1991 when the family decided to move to Florida where he was able to build his dream home. He was able to see his 2 children obtain college degrees, get married and have a total of 6 beautiful grandchildren, in which he was able to build a loving and lasting relationship with all of them.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Hemoutie and Jasodra. He is survived by his wife Ruby, his son Lomesh (wife Wendy), his daughter Vanessa (husband Rafael), and his 6 grandchildren: Rey (18), Shennah (17), Priya (16), Aliyah (14), Zander (13) and Anya (11), his brother, Lakeraj and many nieces and nephews.

He was a bright, funny and caring man and he will be forever loved and missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 15th, 2022 @ 1pm.
