Miriam Irene DeWitt Judd, wife of Pete Judd of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30th. She was nearly 90 years old and lived a very full life. Mimi was an excellent wife to Pete and a wonderful mother to her four children: Jeff Judd, Lydia Carroll, Laura Cunningham, and Ruth Judd, soon to be Ruth Hill. She also leaves behind a dozen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, besides many good friends. Born May 22, 1930 to Ed and Laura DeWitt of Port Carbon, PA, she graduated from Penn State in 1952, married Pete in 1954 and started a family right away. They moved numerous times over their married life, including to Rio de Janeiro, Zagreb, and Prague. She had varied interests and loved an adventure but never neglected her family or friends. The heart of the family, Pete fondly called her his domestic goddess. She had a listening ear and a sympathetic heart and maintained correspondence with many people she had met over the decades. She faced many challenges in her life but overcame them with humor, humility, and great inner strength. She has passed on a tremendous legacy of what it means to be a loving wife and mother and is sorely missed by her family.
