Nació en el pueblo de Ceiba PR el 13 de octubre del 1935, hijo de Concepción Vidal Lima y Petronila Piñero Santana. Disfrutó su niñez en el pueblo de Fajardo, junto a sus otros 10 hermanos: Miguel, Juan, Julio, Santiago, María, Eugenia, Leonor, Guillermina, Carmen Belén y Lydia, de los cuales sobreviven Eugenia, Leonor y Lydia.
En el 1964 conoció a Ángela Minerva Acevedo Aponte en el estado de New Jersey y se casaron el 8 de junio del 1968, procreando dos hijos: Concepción Vidal Acevedo y José Alfredo Vidal Acevedo. La celebración de las nupcias fue la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Broadway en la ciudad de Paterson, New Jersey. De un matrimonio anterior y relaciones anteriores procreó cuatro hijos: Carmen Milagros Vidal Jiménez, Serafín Vidal Jiménez, José Antonio Vidal Figueroa y Rosalinda Vidal González.
Para el año 1955, se enlistó en las fuerzas armadas de los Estados Unidos (ARMY) y participó en la Guerra de Corea y eventos relacionados a la misma hasta el 1957. En el 1970 ingresó en la Guardia Nacional de PR donde permaneció por 12 años. Luego ingresó en la Reserva del Ejército de los Estados Unidos (ARMY RESERVE) y participó en la Guerra del Golfo (Operación Escudo del Desierto (8/2/1990 – 1/7/1991) y Operación Tormenta del Desierto (1/17/1991 – 2/28/1991)).
Vivió por 15 años en el pueblo de Fajardo junto a su esposa e hijos y luego se mudaron al pueblo de Peñuelas, donde vivieron 10 años. Luego se mudaron al estado de la Florida en el 1997. En el año 2005 hizo profesión de fe, aceptando a Cristo como su Salvador personal y fue bautizado por su hijo, Pastor Peter Vidal. Perteneció a la iglesia Sión Pentecostal por muchos años hasta que su hijo Peter comenzó su ministerio pastoral en el año 2013. Decidió entonces perseverar en la congregación, Centro Cristiano Restauración, donde permaneció por 7 años.
Después de una larga batalla con el cáncer, fallece el primero de octubre de 2020.
Descansa ahora en paz, Serafín Vidal Piñero. Tu familia, iglesia y amigos te extrañaremos y siempre recordaremos tu ética de trabajo, tu integridad y responsabilidad, tus esfuerzos y empeño en el beneficio de tu familia y de aquellos que pasaren necesidad. Tu legado es evidente y sólido y durará por generaciones. Damos gracias a Dios por tu vida y celebramos que hoy estás en la presencia de Dios, disfrutando de la perfección prometida por Jesús a todos aquellos que le sirven… hasta el final.

He was born in Ceiba PR on October 13, 1935, son of Concepción Vidal Lima and Petronila Piñero Santana. He grew up in the town of Fajardo, along with his 10 other brothers: Miguel, Juan, Julio, Santiago, Maria, Eugenia, Leonor, Guillermina, Carmen Belén and Lydia, of whom Eugenia, Leonor and Lydia survive today.
In 1964, she met Angela Minerva Acevedo Aponte in New Jersey and they got married on June 8, 1968, procreating two children: Concepción Vidal Acevedo and José Alfredo Vidal Acevedo. The celebration of the nuptials was at the First Baptist Church of Broadway in Paterson, New Jersey. From an earlier marriage and previous relationships, he fathered four children: Carmen Milagros Vidal Jiménez, Serafín Vidal Jiménez, José Antonio Vidal Figueroa and Rosalinda Vidal González.
By 1955, he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces (ARMY) and participated in the Korean War and its related events until 1957. In 1970, he joined the Puerto Rico National Guard where he served for 12 years. He then joined the United States Army Reserve and participated in the Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield (8/2/1990 – 1/7/1991) and Operation Desert Storm (1/17/1991 – 2/28/1991)).
He lived for 15 years in Fajardo with his wife and children and then moved to Peñuelas, where they lived for 10 years. They then moved to the state of Florida, USA in 1997. In 2005, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in waters by his son, Pastor Peter Vidal. He was a member of Zion Pentecostal Church for many years until his son Peter began his pastoral ministry in 2013. He decided to persevere from that moment on in Restoration Christian Center, where he remained a member for 7 years.
After a long battle with cancer, he died on October 1, 2020.
Rest now in peace, Serafín Vidal Piñero. Your family, church and friends will miss you and we will always remember your work ethic, your integrity and responsibility, your efforts and commitment to the benefit of your family and those in need. Your legacy is evident and solid and will last for generations. We thank God for your life and celebrate that today you are in God's presence, enjoying the perfection promised by Jesus to all those who serve Him… until the end.
