CLEARWATER, FL – Stephen “Steve” Edward Varner, 77, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019. Stephen was born to the late Raymond Sr. and Alberta Varner in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, in Chattanooga, class of 1959 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Steve was a retired Clearwater Firefighter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Jr. and sister, Carolyn Jones. Survivors are his daughters, Nicole Sargent (Ken), Montverde, FL; Dawn Brennan (Tom), Tampa, FL; son, Brian Varner, Clearwater, FL; four grandchildren, Sydney, Scott, Sarah and Stephanie Brennan; brothers, Doug Varner (Brenda), Knoxville, Tenn.; Donald Varner (Mary Beth), St. Petersburg, FL; Ronald Varner (Helga), St. Petersburg, FL; and Richard Varner (Sally), Hixson, Tenn.

A service will take place, at 10:00am, Tuesday June 25, 2019 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave.
Followed by a Memorial Bench dedication at 11:30am at Pine Harbor Marina, 1145 Poling Circle, Soddy-Daisy, TN.
