Susan Tumelty Obituary

Susan (Susie/Grammy) Tumelty, 89, of Palm Harbor, Florida, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and countless treasured memories. Born on August 5, 1936, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, as an only child Susan grew up with love and attention in an intergenerational family home, she spent her teen years riding horses and driving her red convertible.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband and business partner, John Tumelty. Their happiest years were raising a family at the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. Susan is survived by her three daughters, Susan Mills (husband Robert Mills, granddaughters Kristy Russo and Kasie Mitchell), Kathy Feinstein (husband Kurt Feinstein, grandsons Zack Feinstein, wife Kelly Feinstein, Sean Feinstein, wife Samantha Feinstein), Jackie Tumelty-Kaller (husband Peder Kaller, granddaughter Svea Kaller and grandson Lukas Kaller), and son John Tumelty (wife Chris Tumelty, grandson Jack Tumelty and granddaughters Mary-Kate Tumelty and Emily Tumelty).

Susan spent years as a small business owner and entrepreneur. She had an effortless ability to connect with others, or you could say the gift of gab, she was simple yet spicey and beautiful yet bold. Susan taught us how to live carefree and playful, in a broken world. She would often say her higher education came from the school of hard knocks, but boy did she have a PhD in all things CASH, especially when it came to buying sweet red wine!

Susan was queen of sparkle and all things cheetah print, her favorite sweatshirt read, “I’m not old, just vintage”! Susan loved happy hour, Elvis music, and dancing to her favorite song “Go Johnny Go”! Susan was known for losing her purse on-the-daily, and when found you always knew it was hers because it would most likely contain, random cutlery, cups of butter and an old cookie, lol. Her innocent debauchery is what made you love her.

Susan will be remembered for making others smile, giving generously, and sharing her happy heart. Her story will live on in her family and those who cared for her as a warrior in faith and inspiration of courage and strength in her final hours!

Susan will join her Johnny Boy in Heaven.
