KOZEMSKI, Vernon Marvin Fredrick, 92, of Clearwater, FL, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at home under hospice care, after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Kozemski, and his grandson, Clinton E. Kozemski. He and Margaret were childhood sweethearts in St. Louis, MO and early in their lives spent weekends bull riding (Vernon) and trick riding (Margaret) for various rodeos around Missouri. In 1951 Vernon entered the Marine Corps, and they moved to Oceanside, CA, near Camp Pendleton Marine Base, where their son Walter was born. Vernon was a retired carpenter, and business owner. Since 2015 their Winter home was in the Riviera community in Clearwater, and upon Margaret’s death, Vernon became a permanent resident. He was welcomed there by the community and was often seen driving his golf cart to visit neighbors. He leaves son, Walter Kozemski; daughter-in-law, Patricia Kozemski; granddaughter, Jessica Kozemski, sister-in-law Marion White and numerous other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Holloway Funeral Home, 112 Bayview Blvd., Oldsmar, FL 34677. With chapel service at 6:00 PM. He will then be repatriated to his hometown for a viewing at Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant, Missouri on Monday, February 7 from 4-7 PM with funeral service on Tuesday, February 8th at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Florissant, MO Interment to take place at New Bethlehem Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri
