With apologies for the delay, on behalf of the family I wish to thank all those who have visited this site to express condolences regarding our loss of Sharon. So many wonderful friends have given their support in kind words and prayer~we deeply appreciate the many expressions of sympathy. Sharon was so strong~to the very end, she gave her all to remain independent, and she succeeded beyond all expectations! While it is so hard to accept her passing, I know God granted her prayers. How wonderful, that she and Don are together again and have found peace.

My wife and I were saddened to learn today of Sharon's passing on June 24, 2015. We are grateful to her sisters, Janice and Livia for having left us a voicemail today. I first met Sharon when my boyhood friend, Don Bridges, introduced her to me and told me he had found the love of his life. I was filled with pride when they asked me to be their best man at their wedding on December 27, 1958. We remained lifelong friends when they left Long Island and relocated to Florida. We visited with them often whenever we had a chance to visit the Sunshine State.

When Don died tragically in 2011, we continued to visit with Sharon and were with her, shortly after she was diagnosed with ALS. She displayed tremendous courage throughout the time we spent with her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her children, Wendy and her family, Scott and his family, as well as with her sisters Janice and Livia, and brother George and their families and to Don's sister, Cynthia and her family.

Despite the sadness of this event, we can all take some measure of comfort that Don and Sharon have been reunited for eternity.

Sincerely, Ed & Joanne

To Sharon's family. I was so sad to learn yesterday that Sharon had passed away. I knew her through the Fairbury public school system. She was always so gracious and what a wonderful voice she had too. I remember her in different chorus roles and musical plays she performed in. She was always so elegant in eveything she did. I hadn't seen her since she left Fairbury at age 17 but I never forgot her and have thought about her through the years. May she rest in peace now free from that dreadful disease she had.
Sincerely,

Hello Shirley~Sorry for this delay but want to thank you for your very thoughtful words following our loss of Sharon. I am so glad you remember her wonderful voice and personality! She never really changed, you know? Always very positive, very upbeat! Even in her illness, she managed to sing and stay independent, right down to the last. We miss her terribly but are so glad she was spared the worst of ALS. For that, we will always be grateful to God.
