Janet Louise Sontheimer, 70, lived in Clearwater, Fl passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in Clearwater, Florida after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born February 9, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Francis Carse and Ruth Chilton. She was married to John C. Sontheimer for 49 years. She was a kindergarten teacher at Forrest Lakes Elementary and retired 5 years ago after a 20 plus year teaching career. Prior to teaching, Janet was a stay-at-home mother. She enjoyed staying home with her children until she started her teaching career in 1995. She is survived by her husband, John C. Sontheimer, her children, Heather Crew (David) and Jeffrey Sontheimer (Dawn), her grandsons Bryce Crew, Tyler Crew, Carson Sontheimer, Cooper Sontheimer, Sheamus Sontheimer and granddaughters Zoe Sontheimer and Willow Sontheimer. She is preceded in death by her son, Gregory Sontheimer, her brother, Rusty, her sister, Carol and her parents, Francis Carse and Ruth Carse. She will be cremated, and services will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society in Janet Sontheimer’s honor. Her family is very thankful to the staff and nurses at Harbourwood Care Center and Hospice. They made her death peaceful for her and her family.
