Douglas W. Willey, 55, of Oldsmar, passed away Sunday May 10, 2015. He was born in
Hampton, Virginia and moved to Oldsmar, Florida last year from Madison, Wisconsin.
Rarely a man of few words, Douglas enjoyed long conversations with all of his close family and
friends.
He was most passionate about music, wildlife, technology and his opinion, all passions of which
he made sure his daughter inherited. He wouldn't have it any other way. He also had a sense of
humor that would always sneak it's way into conversation and force you to chuckle.
He worked as a computer programmer for some time, but another job he spoke of regularly
was the time he spent working at a bakery. He enjoyed cooking and the bakery held good
memories for him of being young, strong, and talented.
Another passion of his was teaching his daughter and niece, Oriana. He didn't have a tremendous
amount of patience, but almost every ounce of patience he did have was saved for them. He
knew a little about a lot things and he tried to share every bit of it. There were topics that he
knew a lot about which could lead to several hours of topic education but none of us were ever
worse for the wear.
The beauty of his, "gift of gab", as he always said, was that he was able to share so much with
so many. May his wisdom carry on through those that cared for him.
Survived by his daughter Debra Lynn Ytzen, mother Sylvia Dwyer, father James Willey, sister
Lorraine Willey, brother Allen Willey, grandmother Emily Lowe, nieces Oriana and Michelle, and
best friend Rick Klinger.
