Guy Reeder Campbell III, 78, passed away September 21, 2017.  He was born on August 1, 1939 in Salina Kansas to Guy Reeder Campbell Jr and Mary Depew Campbell.  Guy grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina High School in 1957.  After high school, he attended the US Coast Guard Academy in New London CT from 1957 to 1959.  He then transferred to Stetson University in Deland, Florida where he received his Bachelor of Arts in graduating in June 1962.  He was also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

After graduating he joined the US Navy as a commissioned officer and served for thirty years, including seven tours in Vietnam.  While in the Navy, he received two Master degrees in Economics and Business Administrations.  He retired in 1991 with his last command as the inaugural Commanding Officer of the US Naval Consolidated Brig in Charleston, SC. 

Guy married Linda Barrett on June 5, 1962 in Deland, Florida at St Barnabas Episcopal Church.  They were happily married for 42 years until her death in November 2005.   On September 1, 2012, he married Janet Arlene Marlow.

Guy was a season ticket holder for 20 years with the Tampa Bay Lightning.  He also sat on the board of Opera Tampa with the Straz Center in Tampa, FL.  He was an avid traveler, a few of his favorite destinations were Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and Scotland.  Ever since he was a little boy, Guy had a passion for trains, which resulted in a lifelong hobby of model trains.  But most of all, Guy enjoy spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Guy Reeder Campbell IV, his father Guy Reeder Campbell Jr, his wife Linda Barrett Campbell and his mother, Mary Depew Campbell.  He is survived by his wife, Janet Marlow of Trinity Florida, and his daughter and sons, Jane Campbell Marlow (Vance Marlow) of Tampa Florida, Christopher Barrett Campbell (Dawn Campbell) of Petoskey Michigan, Margaret Campbell Howell (Vance Howell) of Spring Hill Tennessee and Douglas Depew Campbell of New Orleans Louisiana; His brother Ned Depew Campbell (Jean Campbell) of Tallahassee Florida; his grandchildren Elizabeth Arlean Marlow (Ricky Aspuria – fiancé) of Tampa Florida,  Peyton Depew Campbell of Summerville South Carolina, Andrea Marie Marlow of Tampa, Florida, Ryleigh Anne Campbell of Clemson South Carolina, Catherine Frances Howell of Spring Hill Tennessee and Campbell Guy Howell of Spring Hill Tennessee.

A memorial service will be held at Holloway Funeral Home located at 112 South Bayview Blvd, Oldsmar, Florida 34677
